Starting in the fall of 2021 I began to edit and read for the literary journal Miracle Monocle. During my time at Miracle Monocle I served as a fiction editor of the journal. Meaning that I read every single fiction and creative nonfiction piece that came across our desks, and I found immense joy in doing so. Someone who always enjoyed reading and writing seeing authors submitted work was always a thrill working at the journal. Every week we would have 20-plus new submissions from people of all walks of life and having the opportunity to read through them and give good criticism was extremely fulfilling. I also served as someone who would edit the pieces that we chose and then code them in HTML to put them on our website. Doing this has strengthened my ability to be an editor and has taught me that the career that I would like to pursue is one in editing and Publishing.

Along with editing and reading all of the stories that we came across I also served as someone who would create the book covers of the stories that we published as well as the flyers for whenever our Journal had an open mic night or any event. The Flyers and covers that I created are also shown in my portfolio.
